Speech Language therapists work with children and adults. Using effective Speech Therapy techniques, their role is to evaluate and provide appropriate treatment around communication and swallowing disorders.

Speech Therapy helpsĀ children who:
  • have difficulties acquiring sounds for speech development (articulation)
  • have difficulties acquiring language patterns for communication
  • struggle with fluency
  • find eating and swallowing difficult
Speech Therapy helps Adults who:
  • develop difficulties with their speech and language through head injury, stroke or many other medical disorders
  • struggle with fluency
  • struggle with hearing

Other problems may coexist with speech problems- physical ( e.g cerebral palsy, hearing ) emotional ( e.g. selective mute) and other disorders such as autism, intellectual impairment. Effective Speech Therapy programs can help raise the individuals speech and language skills.
